  1. How to use the LinkedIn Search to Lead Connection

    PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Search to Lead Connection Automation lets you extract leads from LinkedIn searches or groups and send connection requests automatically. This tutorial covers the essential setup steps for launching the Automation and managing invitations safely.

    • Prerequisites: You must have an active LinkedIn session; keep Chrome or Firefox updated to prevent session cookies from expiring.

    • Required inputs: Must be LinkedIn Search, Sales Navigator Search, or LinkedIn Group URLs. Google Sheets and CSV files must be publicly accessible/shared.

    • Safety limits: LinkedIn limits invitations to ~100/week. This Workflow defaults to 20 invites per weekday to stay within safe ranges.

    • Plan limits: Uses 2 PhantomBuster slots. On the Free plan, CSV exports are limited to 10 rows, and CSV upload as an input is not supported.

    • Functionality: This Automation sends connection requests only; it does not send follow-up messages after acceptance.

    1. Connect your LinkedIn account: Install the PhantomBuster browser extension (Chrome or Firefox) and connect your LinkedIn session. If using another browser, manually retrieve and add your LinkedIn session cookie.

    2. Provide your target inputs: Select your input type (LinkedIn Search, Sales Navigator Search, or LinkedIn Group) and provide the URL, a shared Google Sheet, or a publicly accessible CSV.

      Spreadsheet inputs default to column A; to use a different column, specify its exact header in the "Name of column containing inputs" field.

    3. Configure extraction and invite cadence: Set the number of results to extract per input and the number of invites to send per day (default is 20). Select your scheduling preference (Weekdays or Randomly) and, if applicable, your Sales Navigator team.

      Invitations are not sent instantly; leads are extracted first, then invited based on your schedule. Custom launch times are not supported in this Workflow.

    4. Customize your connection message (optional): Add a personalized message using placeholder tags or leave it blank. Watch the character counter to ensure you stay within LinkedIn’s limits.

      Free LinkedIn accounts are limited to 200 characters and 5 personalized invites/month (Premium allows 300 characters). Emojis and hyperlinks are not supported.

    5. Adjust general advanced options (optional): Fine-tune execution limits, retries, notifications, or proxy settings in the Advanced settings if necessary; default values usually suffice.

    6. Launch and monitor: Toggle the Workflow ON to start. The Automation will extract leads, then send invites according to your set limits and schedule.

      Errors may not appear in the main dashboard; always open the Logs from the Phantom’s console to diagnose hidden errors.
