How to use the LinkedIn Profile Visitor
PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Profile Visitor Automation lets you automatically visit LinkedIn profiles to collect key data for prospecting and lead generation. This guide covers the essential steps for setup, input options, and safe usage.
Required inputs: A connected LinkedIn session cookie and a list of LinkedIn Profile URLs.
Input limitations: Accepts standard LinkedIn URLs only. For Sales Navigator URLs, use the Sales Navigator Profile Scraper.
Safety limits: Max 80 profiles/day (Standard) or 150/day (Sales Navigator). Halve these limits if email discovery is enabled.
Detection risk: This Phantom visits profiles, so you will appear in their "Who viewed your profile" list. Use the Profile Scraper to avoid this footprint.
Email credits: PhantomBuster email discovery uses 1 credit per attempt; credits reset monthly.
Free plan limits: CSV exports show only the first 10 rows; file downloads (CSV/JSON) and CSV upload inputs are not supported.
Choose which LinkedIn profiles to visit: Provide input via My Lists, a single URL, a Google Sheet, a publicly accessible CSV (paid plans), another Phantom's results, or HubSpot.
Google Sheets must be shared with "Anyone with the link." If using a spreadsheet, the default column is A unless a header is specified. HubSpot contacts require a LinkedIn Profile URL.
Connect your LinkedIn account: Install the PhantomBuster extension to connect your session automatically, or manually retrieve your session cookie.
Optionally enable professional email discovery: Select PhantomBuster credits or a third-party service (Dropcontact, Hunter, Snov) to find emails and extract the 'CompanyLinkedinUrl' field.
Performance may slow with discovery enabled. Emails for 2nd/3rd-degree connections are only returned if discovery is active.
Configure Phantom behavior: Set the number of profiles to visit per launch (recommended: 10) and enable options like dwell time, screenshot capture, or extra data extraction.
To stay within safety limits, schedule roughly 8 launches per day during business hours. The Phantom resumes from where it left off on the next run.
Select launch frequency: Choose to launch manually, at specific times, or repeatedly during business hours.
Optional: Adjust advanced settings: Modify execution limits, proxies, or file management settings if necessary; default settings are usually sufficient.
Launch and review results: Click Launch to start, then view data in the Results tab or download it as JSON/CSV.
Standard CSV output contains limited job/education history. Download JSON for the full dataset.
