How to use the LinkedIn Search to Lead Outreach
PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Search to Lead Outreach Automation extracts leads from LinkedIn people search results and automates outreach messages. Follow these steps to set up the workflow for effective lead generation.
Input requirements: Provide LinkedIn people search URLs. Google Sheets must be shared with "Anyone with the link," and CSV uploads are available on paid plans only. Use the Sales Navigator specific workflow for Sales Navigator URLs.
Safety limits: LinkedIn limits invitations to approximately 100 per week. The default Automation setting is 20 invites per working day to stay within safe limits.
Free plan limitations: CSV exports are limited to the first 10 rows, and CSV uploads as inputs are not supported.
Email capability: This Automation does not collect verified professional emails; use the LinkedIn Profile Scraper Automation for that purpose.
Connect your LinkedIn account: Install the PhantomBuster browser extension (Chrome or Firefox) and connect your LinkedIn session in one click. If using another browser, manually retrieve your session cookie as instructed.
Keep your browser up to date to prevent session cookies from expiring quickly.
Provide LinkedIn people search inputs: Choose to enter a single search URL, a Google Sheet with search URLs, or upload a publicly accessible CSV (paid plans only).
Set extraction, invite limits, and timing: In Advanced settings, set the number of profiles to extract, daily invite limits (default 20), and choose between weekday or random sending schedules.
Only two scheduling modes are available; custom launch schedules are not supported for this workflow.
Customize the connection request (optional): Add a personalized message to invites within LinkedIn’s character limits. Use placeholder tags if needed.
Free LinkedIn accounts are limited to 200 characters and 5 personalized invites/month (Premium allows 300 characters). Emojis and hyperlinks are not supported.
Write and schedule follow-up messages: Create up to three follow-up messages, set delays, and attach files if needed. Follow-ups send only if the lead accepts the connection and does not reply.
Follow-ups are mandatory in this workflow; use the "LinkedIn Search to Lead Connection" workflow if you do not want to send follow-ups. Maximum attachment size is 20 MB.
Adjust optional advanced run settings (optional): Fine-tune advanced options like execution limits, retries, notifications, or proxies in Advanced settings if needed.
Defaults are optimized; change advanced settings only if a guide instructs you to.
Launch and monitor results: Start the Automation using the ON/OFF switch. Leads are collected and invites sent according to your settings. Track results in the Dashboard.
Invitations are not sent immediately; the Automation first collects leads, then sends invites based on your daily limit. Do not update inputs while the Automation is running.

Connect to lemlist using your API key & choose your campaign
To take action on your behalf, this Phantom needs to access your lemlist account. To do this, it needs your lemlist API key. Here's how to find it:
Go to the settings in the top left of your account
In the left sidebar menu, select Integrations
Copy your API key and paste it into the relevant field of the Phantom's setup
For more detailed instructions, check out this lemlist article.
Then specify the name of the lemlist campaign you would like to migrate the profile data to. This field is case-sensitive, so be careful to write the name exactly as you see it.
Give the URLs of the LinkedIn searches you're interested in
You have two options:
1. Process a single search
Type your search term directly into the Phantom's setup, or make your search on LinkedIn, then copy the search URL and paste it into the setup.2. Process multiple searches
Create a spreadsheet with Google Sheets. Copy the LinkedIn search URLs and paste them into your spreadsheet - one URL per row, all in column A.
Make this spreadsheet public so PhantomBuster can access it.

Copy the spreadsheet URL and paste it into your Phantom's setup.
Take note: You can append your search URL with &page=x (where x represents a page number) to let the Phantom know which search result page it should start scraping from.
Enrich your leads with verified professional email addresses
Turn LinkedIn profiles into full-fledged leads by enriching them with professional email addresses.
How email discovery works:
The service uses each profile’s full name and company name to search for a professional email address, verify it, and return the result.Choose your enrichment method:
1. Use PhantomBuster credits
Each PhantomBuster plan includes monthly email discovery credits:1 credit = 1 attempt to find and verify an email for 1 profile.
Credits reset monthly.
2. Use your own third-party service
Connect an external email discovery tool by entering your API key from one of these platforms:Take note: Not every profile will return a verified email address, but this step can dramatically increase your chances of landing in inboxes, not just InMail. It depends on the data available, so your number of emails found may be lower than your credits used.

Tip: To reduce the risk of hitting platform rate limits when using email discovery, process about half of the default daily recommendation for your Phantom. For example, with the LinkedIn Profile Visitor Phantom, aim for 40 profiles per day instead of the default 80.
Set the Phantom on repeat
Automation always produces better results in the long run. Set the Phantom to launch repeatedly and get results while you're away!
This Phantom runs from the cloud, which means you don't even need to have your browser open or computer on for these launches to happen.
For more automatic launch options, click on the three little dots in the top right and "Show advanced settings."
