How do you get AI to write the perfect message?

Copywriting is tough, that’s why using automation and AI tools is so helpful. All you need to do is to describe the type of message you want the AI to write for you, rather than writing it yourself.

When you set up the phantom, there's a section called "Prompt". The prompt is your instructions for the AI, and where you describe how you want the AI to formulate the message.

To help you out, we have created a list of readymade prompts (templates) for you to choose from, for example, "Connect based on similar work experience" which will write a message referencing your similarities in professional experience, or "Connect with anyone" for a more generic connection request message.

You can also select "Create a custom prompt" which will give you complete freedom to give instructions to the AI about how to format the message. You can ask it to include a joke, have a certain tone of voice, or ask it not to mention a specific detail such as the geographical location. The possibilities are endless.

You can specify the columns the AI should leverage as the input to craft a message, for example, you can select to only send the job title, current location, and current company name, which will mean that that's the only background of the lead you're sending to the AI in order for it to craft a message around. If you're typing a custom prompt, we recommend using All LinkedIn Leads Data in order to give the AI as much information as possible about the lead. If you're using a template prompt, we have already included the recommended columns by default.

Note: The more relevant data you give the Phantom, the better it will be at writing a customized message for you. We recommend that you use input from profiles you have enriched with the LinkedIn Profile Scraper Phantom for best results.

How do AI credits work with the AI LinkedIn Message Writer Phantom?

Your account comes with a certain number of AI credits. Every time you run an AI Phantom, it will use the AI credits. How many credits will be used each time you run the Phantom will vary, and depends on how much data is being processed each time. This is based on the OpenAI API pricing and not within PhantomBuster's control.

For example, if you use this Phantom to write a LinkedIn connection message, please remember to stay within 200 and 300 characters.

Things that can impact the number of credits used include (but are not limited to)...

• Length of the prompt you're using as input

• Length of the response you're asking the AI to write for you

• Number of columns you feed to GPT (amount of LinkedIn data)

• Translation (English uses fewer credits than other languages)

• GPT Model (GPT 3.5 use approximately 30 times less credits than GPT 4)

What's the difference between the two GPT Models?

You can select either GPT 3.5 or GPT 4 as the "engine" to craft your messages. While they are both very powerful, GPT 4 is a newer and more powerful AI model which is better at crafting messages than GPT 3.5.

GPT 4 takes a lot more processing power to craft messages, and therefore "costs" a lot more in terms of AI credits. Using GPT 4 can use as much as 30 times the number of credits for one response compared to if you're using GPT 3.5, so be careful to not use up all your AI credits too quickly if you're using GPT 4.

Note: We recommend Free users and users on Starter Plans to leverage GPT 3.5 in order to not run out of AI credits too quickly.

How do I know if the output is good enough?

You'll be able to see the message that GPT has crafted for you in the output. This Phantom does not send any messages on LinkedIn directly to your leads, and you'll be able to see the messages crafted for each lead in your Leads page before you send them. If you have a large list of leads that you want to craft messages to, we recommend you test on a smaller number of leads first so that you can evaluate if the prompt is clear enough for the AI to write a message you're happy with.

In the Behavior step, you can select to only run the prompt on the first 10 users in the input. This will ensure that you can test your prompt and see the output, and if necessary, go back to the prompt and make the desired changes before you apply it to all your leads in the list.

Note: If you use the "Run prompt on first 10 leads", the Phantom will overwrite the previous output if you launch the Phantom again.
