How to use the LinkedIn Connections Export
PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Connections Export Automation lets you quickly extract your LinkedIn connections into a structured file for further use or integration with other Automations. This tutorial outlines the main steps to set up and run the Automation, whether your network is small or large.
Daily safety limits: Extract up to 1,000 profiles per day on standard LinkedIn, or up to 2,500 per day with Sales Navigator. Spread runs over working hours.
Input requirements: Requires a valid LinkedIn session cookie and an updated browser user agent to prevent session expiry.
Data scope: Returns basic details (URL, name, title, connected date, image). Use the LinkedIn Profile Scraper for richer data.
Slot usage: This Phantom uses 1 slot while running.
Free/Trial plan limits: CSV exports contain only the first 10 rows; JSON exports and direct download links are unavailable.
Choose your export method: Decide between using the Phantom for networks up to about 2,000 connections (fast direct export), or the LinkedIn Archive for larger networks to ensure you get all connections.
The Phantom works best for up to ~2,000 connections. For larger networks, use the LinkedIn Archive method to ensure completeness, as the Phantom may not retrieve the full list in one go.
If using the Phantom - Connect your LinkedIn account: Connect your LinkedIn session using the PhantomBuster browser extension or manually with your session cookie.
If using the Phantom - Configure behavior: Set how many profiles to extract, choose sorting order, and optionally filter by date added.
The Phantom always extracts from the top of your connections (newest to oldest) and does not resume where it left off. Relaunching with the same settings processes the same profiles again unless you have new connections.
If using the Phantom - Select launch frequency: Choose how often to run the Automation—manually, once at a set time, on a schedule, after another Phantom, or with custom scheduling.
If using the Phantom - Launch and get results: Start the Automation, then view and download the results as CSV or JSON, or view as a dynamic list in the LinkedIn Leads page.
If using LinkedIn Archive - Request your connections file: In LinkedIn, go to Settings & Privacy > Data privacy > Get a copy of your data, select "Connections," and request the archive to receive an email download link.
If using LinkedIn Archive - Prepare and use the file: Open the file in Google Sheets, remove extra top rows, share it with “Anyone with the link,” and use the URL as input for other Automations.
