How to use the LinkedIn Message Sender
PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Message Sender Automation helps you send personalized messages to your 1st-degree LinkedIn connections at scale. This tutorial covers how to select recipients, connect your account, customize messages, and review results.
Prerequisites: Input must be LinkedIn profile URLs for individual profiles only (no company pages). This Phantom works
only with 1st-degree connections; use the Sales Navigator Message Sender for 2nd-degree connections or beyond.
Rate limits: Keep activity moderate—up to ~80 messages per week for standard LinkedIn accounts. Halve this volume if email discovery is enabled.
Spreadsheet settings: If using a Google Sheet, share it with "Anyone with the link." CSV uploads are supported only on paid plans.
Email discovery: Uses 1 credit per lookup (resets monthly) and increases execution time.
Free plan limits: CSV exports include only the first 10 rows, JSON exports are unavailable, and CSV file upload is not supported.
Choose which LinkedIn profiles to message:
Select your input source: pick a saved LinkedIn Leads list, paste a single profile URL, connect a Google Sheet, or feed results from another Phantom.
Connect your LinkedIn account: Install the PhantomBuster browser extension to connect your LinkedIn session in one click, or manually enter your session cookie if not using Chrome/Firefox.
Keep your browser up to date; outdated user agents can cause session cookies to expire quickly, requiring frequent reconnections.
Write and customize your message: Enable "Scrape all available profile data" to unlock additional placeholder tags (e.g., #company#) and compose your message (max 8,000 characters). You can attach files up to 20 MB, but emojis and hyperlinks are not supported.
Do not use
#message#as a placeholder or name any spreadsheet column "message." Send condition settings apply only when a thread link is available for the profile.Enrich leads with professional emails (optional):
Select your email discovery service: use PhantomBuster credits or connect Dropcontact, Hunter, or Snov via API key.
Configure Phantom behavior: Set how many profiles to message per launch (max 10) and plan your weekly volume within LinkedIn safety limits.

Select launch frequency: Choose to launch manually, at a set time, on a schedule, or after another Phantom finishes.
For best results, run during weekday business hours and space out runs throughout the day. When chaining Phantoms, ensure one completes before the next starts.
Adjust advanced settings (optional):
Fine-tune execution limits, retries, notifications, proxies, webhooks, and file management as needed.
Launch and review results: Click Launch, then check the Results tab for your data to export as CSV or JSON.
This Phantom sends only one message per run. For follow-up sequences, duplicate the Phantom, write a different message in each copy, and schedule them with safe delays.
