Case Study: How The Crowdfunding Formula Got 20K Leads in 3 Months

How do you raise money from dog lovers on LinkedIn? Mane from The Crowdfunding Formula shows us they got to 20K leads in this case study.

The Crowdfunding Formula’s Mane Gharibyan began using PhantomBuster as a new business owner to increase the number of leads she could find on LinkedIn.

The Crowdfunding Formula (TCF) is a digital marketing agency focused on getting crowdfunding campaigns funded by over $1 million.

The challenge: Find pet groups

The challenge was to find all the pet parents worldwide and contact them via various channels, including LinkedIn.

The first step was to contact all pet-related groups and join them. Once you are in, you can see the list of all the members there.

Groups on LinkedIn tend to not be too active,” says Mane, “but there are thousands of untapped leads waiting to engage with something that speaks to them.”

Finding pet parents on LinkedIn

Next, it is time to use PhantomBuster to source these pet parents.

With the LinkedIn Group Members Export Phantom, you can get started by inputting the group URL you are already a member of, as shown in the screenshot below.

When I first started using this strategy, I had to input the session cookie myself.” Mane adds, “It’s amazing watching how the platform has grown and added features!

Having watched it grow over time, she doesn’t need to worry anymore, as the extension takes care of everything for her.

After filling in all the information, she’d have to launch the search "Repeatedly" and wait for the magic to happen.

Once the Phantom had done its job, she’d download the CSV file, with the following information: 

  • Profile URL

  • Full name

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Headline

The next step was creating a Google spreadsheet and columns with profile URLs and first names. For the Phantom or automation to access this data, the spreadsheet’s sharing permissions should be set to publicly available.

Mane also added the link to her new spreadsheet to benefit from one of PhantomBuster’s coolest features. 

Using this LinkedIn Auto Connect Phantom, you can create and customize your connection request, which can then be shared with everyone.

When sending these connection requests, Mane would not send too many at once. 

Be careful,” Mane warns, “doing so will send red flags through LinkedIn’s systems, labeling your account as spammy and potentially blocking you.”

By removing invites that weren’t responded to in 2 weeks, she could resend them and ensure that she stayed high on people’s connection requests lists.

After sending the connection requests, she’d interact with those profiles using the LinkedIn Auto Follow, LinkedIn Auto Liker, and LinkedIn Auto Endorse Phantoms, which ensured an even higher conversion rate.

While breaking it down into smaller batches may take a while, it’s still way faster than manually doing it!

Engage with leads on LinkedIn

But that’s not the end.

With her network of pet owners established, it was time to engage with them. Sure, PhantomBuster can’t automate posts for you, but it can make many other engagement strategies much easier to implement.
