How to use the LinkedIn Search Export
PhantomBuster’s LinkedIn Search Export Automation lets you extract basic profile information from LinkedIn search results at scale. This tutorial covers the key steps for setting up, running, and retrieving your data efficiently.
Safety limits: Process approximately 1,000 results per working day per account (up to 2,500 with Sales Navigator).
Platform limitations: LinkedIn displays only the first 1,000 results per search URL. Split large searches into smaller queries (e.g., by location or industry) to capture more data.
Input requirements: Use standard LinkedIn Search URLs only (not Sales Navigator URLs). Google Sheets must be public; CSV upload is available on paid plans only.
Data limitations: Search exports return basic info only. To enrich with full profile details, run the LinkedIn Profile Scraper on the exported leads.
Free plan limitations: CSV exports contain only the first 10 rows, and JSON downloads are unavailable.
Slot usage: This Phantom uses 1 slot.
Provide the searches you want to export: Choose an input method: paste a LinkedIn Search URL, enter keywords with optional filters, or provide multiple searches via a public Google Sheet or CSV file.
Connect your LinkedIn account: Install the PhantomBuster browser extension to connect your session in one click, or manually enter your session cookie.
Keep your browser updated; outdated user agents can cause cookies to expire quickly, forcing frequent reconnections.
Configure export settings: Set the number of results to export per launch (max 1,000) and per search URL. Configure advanced options to remove duplicates, include reposts, or rename the results file.
If “Rows to process per launch” is left empty, the Phantom attempts to process all rows in one run (not recommended). Set a small number to distribute activity. Renaming the results file triggers a fresh export from the beginning.
Select launch frequency: Choose to launch manually, at a specific time, on a recurring schedule, or after another Phantom finishes.
For best results, schedule runs during business hours and space out chained Phantoms to ensure clean completion.
Optional: Adjust advanced run settings: Fine-tune execution limits, proxy settings, and notifications if necessary; default settings work for most users.
Launch and retrieve results: Click Launch and wait for completion to view the extracted data in the Results tab or download it as a CSV/JSON file.
