Reddit Search Extractor

Tutorial

  1. How to use the Reddit Search Extraction Automation

PhantomBuster’s Reddit Search Extractor Automation extracts posts exactly as they appear in Reddit search results, including titles, engagement scores, and subreddit info. This tutorial shows how to choose your search input, connect your Reddit session, and launch an extraction.

    • Required inputs: A single Reddit search URL, a list of keywords, or a spreadsheet (Google Sheet/CSV) containing search URLs.

    • Extraction limits: Extracts 25 posts per search by default, adjustable up to 200 posts per search.

    • Execution speed: Approximately 45 seconds per 1,000 posts.

    • Free Plan limitations: Exports are limited to 10 rows and CSV upload is not available.

    • Safety: Spread extractions across the day to maintain account safety.

    • Choose your search input: Enter a single Reddit search URL, provide a list of keywords (the Phantom generates the search), or upload a spreadsheet with search URLs.

Results depend on the sort and filter settings in your search URL, so validate your search setup before scaling.

    • Connect your Reddit session: Add your Reddit Session Cookie, verified using the PhantomBuster browser extension, or connect it manually.

    • Configure extraction behavior: Set “Number of posts to scrape per search” (default 25, max 200) and optionally enable “Remove duplicate posts” between searches.

Start with small volumes to confirm your filters; broad searches without filters can produce noisy results.

    • Set your launch frequency: Choose how often to run the Automation (for example, Manual or Repeated) based on your research needs.

    • Launch and review your results: Run the Phantom and export fields like searchUrl, title, textContent, date, subreddit, postId, postUrl, score (net votes), and nbOfComments.

Once you’ve collected search results, you can continue your Reddit research workflow by enriching posts or analyzing conversations. For a detailed walkthrough and troubleshooting tips, see the tutorial on the help center.
